Pope St. John XXIII

A life-like portrait of the well-loved pope who changed history by convening Vatican Council II. Jonson studied extensively the Pope's life and work, reading his journals, published devotions, and biography, so that her sculpture would have a spiritual as well as physical likeness. Every detail is authentic from the ring on his finger to the buckles on his shoes.
