Sculpture moves to Falls Park
'Farmer' dedicated, new display installed

The Best of Show winner of the 2004 SculptureWalk in downtown Sioux Falls moved Thursday to its permanent home in Falls Park.

"American Farmer," by artist Sondra Jonson, also was the 2004 People's Choice runner-up. The People's Choice winner, "Coming Home," which portrays a landing goose, will stand on the east side of Phillips Avenue between Fourth and Fifth streets.

The official ribbon-cutting for the 2005 SculptureWalk is today at 5:15 p.m. at Fountain Square, which is on the west side of Phillips Avenue between Ninth and 10th streets. The 48 sculptures in this year's show will be installed today and Saturday. Maps showing where to find the sculptures and ballots for the 2005 People's Choice award are expected to be available by June 1.
