"A Mother's Love"
By Sondra Jonson
Sondra L. Jonson is the mother of three sons, all in college. She lives in rural Nebraska, where she has a sculpture studio next door to her home. Over the years, while rearing her children, Sondra has volunteered in 4-H, the high school art club, her church women's group and high school Bible study, the local board of economic development, county extension board, and in pro-life activities.
Art is her love. She was so happy when her sculpture "A Mother's Love" won 1st place in Sculpture in the American Mothers National Art Contest. This sculpture is part of a larger sculpture she made for the Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln, Nebraska, as a "Respect Life Memorial." Sondra's sculptures appear throughout the USA and Canada. She has presented sculptures to President George W. Bush and to Pope Benedict XVI.
Her three sons, the pride and joy of her life, are studying pre-law, fine arts, and pre-med respectively. With all three in college, her mothering is not as active, but she'll always be there when they come home, ready to give them "A Mother's Love."
